Home in the Unknown

This painting represents my personal perception of Kirkenes, a place that felt both unfamiliar and strangely like home.

The moose stands in a peaceful Arctic landscape, surrounded by mountains, forests and water, reflecting the beauty and wilderness of Northern Norway.

Coming from the Faroe Islands, I found similarities in the quiet surroundings, remote location and close connection to nature. Although Kirkenes was a new and unfamiliar place, it gave me a sense of belonging.

Together, these elements represent the feeling of discovering something new while finding comfort in the familiar, reminding us that home is not always a place we already know.
